A Mermaid, John William Waterhouse
Writing-wise, the week’s been a crazy quilt. A Lamentation of Swans is growing by leaps, bounds, and tippy-toes. I’m pushing myself to get beyond that last sticking point where I seem to lose track of what I’m doing and where the story is going. The best way to work my way around this particular boulder in the road is to take a look at what the other characters are doing–chiefly, Inquisitor Rijjan Mira, who is determined to solve the mystery of the sunblade beheadings, but Mira’s quest is only a fraction of the story–an intriguing thread in the plot.
Most of this week has been given to planning. Details; it’s all in the details.
